On the afternoon of June 8, 2026, Mr. Ly Vichit, President of the Cambodia Confederation of Workers Fortunate and President of the Cambodian Worker's Mind Union Federation, joined Mr. Chek Borin, Director of the Kampong Speu Department of Labor and Vocational Training, along with relevant authorities, in a gathering and discussion session with former migrant workers returning from Thailand, displaced families, and workers from various provinces currently employed at W & J Factory and Fast Making Factory, located in Chambok Village, Vallisar Commune, Samrong Tong District, Kampong Speu Province.





The event was organized with the aim of encouraging and demonstrating the attention and care of the Royal Government, relevant authorities, and labor unions toward the welfare and livelihoods of workers who have returned to work in Cambodia. Nearly 1,000 participants attended the event.
During the gathering, Mr. Chek Borin provided guidance and encouragement to workers, urging them to perform their duties with discipline, responsibility, and respect for factory regulations. He also emphasized that the Royal Government of Cambodia continues to place high importance on working conditions, workplace safety, and social protection benefits for workers.

In particular, he explained the benefits provided under the National Social Security Fund (NSSF), including free medical treatment at partner hospitals and clinics, medical leave allowances, maternity benefits, occupational accident compensation, and other social protection benefits that help ensure the welfare and social security of workers.
According to factory representatives, W & J Factory and Fast Making Factory currently employ approximately 4,500 workers. Due to increasing production demands and factory expansion, both factories are seeking to recruit around 1,000 additional workers to meet immediate operational needs.

Taking the opportunity, Mr. Ly Vichit expressed his appreciation to former migrant workers, displaced families, and workers from different provinces who have chosen to work at these factories. He stated that creating local employment opportunities plays an important role in improving people’s livelihoods and reducing labor migration abroad. He also encouraged workers to maintain discipline, solidarity, and compliance with internal regulations in order to ensure a positive working environment and sustainable development.
At the same time, labor leaders and factory representatives reaffirmed their commitment to continuing close cooperation to strengthen working conditions, improve workplace safety, and further promote the legal rights and benefits of workers.

In addition, the factories called on citizens, youth, former migrant workers, and job seekers to apply for positions at W & J Factory and Fast Making Factory, as both factories currently require approximately 1,000 additional workers. Factory representatives confirmed that employees will receive reasonable wages, NSSF benefits, and working conditions in accordance with the labor laws of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
